hot tea from the taco stand

i came home tonight after the gym to hooman, on the couch, playing some kill-’em-all/shoot-’em-up game on the living room pc, so i knew i wasn’t going to get any tv time in.
i’ve been meaning to make MORE carrot muffins (yes, more), after last week’s disastrous chocolate cupcakes (which hooman didn’t like, but still managed to eat most of… i like them). so i did… i make more freakin’ carrot cupcakes, did the dishes, made a cup of tea (in this funny-but-inappropriate mug i got in vegas) and then decided to sit here and write something.
then *poof* — hooman emerges from his video game trance, strolls into the kitchen, and here’s our exchange:
- hooman: oh, you did the dishes.
- me: yeah, and i made cupcakes too. don’t eat them i still gotta frost them.
- hooman: oh! (not an excited ‘oh’… more like a oh-how-do-you-do-that-so-fast-without-me-noticing oh)
i’ve got tomorrow off and i intend on doing a whole lot of nothing, short of the one planned thing hooman and i are doing. it’s winterlicious time, so i managed to get a lunch reservations at canoe, and since hooman already had the day off, why not take a tuesday off?

baking used to scare me. i think i was just too lazy to measure and buy the ingredients and try things. but now that hooman and i are all shacked up, i actually have the time to try these kinds of things. before when hooman and i would hang out at my place or his place, we’d sit around and talk, but living together has really brought our relationship into the anti-social status that allows me to get shit done. ha, ha! for instance right now he’s tinkering with his guitar and i’m sitting here typing this craziness. also, i’m kind of watching seinfeld. no talking.
anyway, check out my freakin’ carrot cupcake! they were yummy and i can’t wait to make them again since i still have a few carrots in the fridge; this weekend, i hope.
