moved… pretty much… and some other stuff

canflagr.gifwell, i’ve been neglecting my poor little blog as of late because things have been topsy-turvy/busy/lazy. sorry to all of you loyal readers (hi mom. actually, i wish my mom read; she doesn’t even go on the internet).

anyway, i pretty much have everything out of my old apartment and into my new one. i love my new neighbourhood–it’s super close to work, close to the gym, it’s right downtown, i can walk everywhere and it’s clos(er) to my boyfriend’s place. lovely. plus, henry really seems to like it. then again, he’d probably like just about anywhere after spending two weeks at my grandmother’s with her cats.

other than my move, the large media company i work for has been sold to another large media company. not sure what this is going to mean for my job initially, but i’m not overly concerned; the changes won’t happen overnight. at my last job, for most of my time there i was always uncertain about the future of my employment (due to budget cuts), so i don’t feel too out of sorts; i kind of find it all very exciting. plus, if i lost my job and couldn’t find something else i wanted to do in decent time, i’d love to go back to school.

and i guess in there somewhere was christmas. i had a week off work because mycompany shuts down for the holidays; that was nice. i got some packing done and basically sludged around like a big sack of potatoes–good times. the actual christmas part kind of sucked–my grandmother was sick and turkey dinner got postponed. it was semi-dramatic, but at least it didn’t ruin the whole week.

finally, next week, my brother and his girlfriend are moving to toronto. i can hardly believe it, but i’m pretty happy for them; there’s just not much keeping them in new brunswick and pretty soon my mom isn’t even going to be in moncton anymore… so why stay?

that’s the update, in a nutshell… hopefully i’ll have something more exciting to report soon.

easily amused

bestoftracymorgan.jpgi just love stupid humour, but i’m kind of a stupid humour snob, if that makes any sense. for instance, i really hate the american pie movies, but movies like anchorman or or 40-year-old virgin are shit hot in my book.

anyway, friday night hooman and i were just sitting around, drinking a glass of wine and eating when something reminded me of that astronaut jones sketch from snl. so of course, i hunt down my ‘best of tracy morgan’ dvd and start watching. i find most of it insanely humourous, but hooman was less than amused; i guess we don’t share the same brand of humour. what can i say? i’m low brow.

one of the funniest sketches (well, funny to me) is one where tracy morgan plays this homeless, sewer-living guy called woodrow. so woodrow finds kate hudson at some cafe and asks her to come into his sewer where she can read his screenplay; they sing a song, share a kiss…all very tender. i’ve had the song in my head ALL friggin’ weekend. here are some of the lyrics:

“‘Mr. Rubber Face, I’m from outer space
Kibbles ‘n Bits, tiny mouse tits
And I.. love.. you..
I.. love.. you..’

read the whole sketch.

this is friday night… it’s freezing outside and i’m at my boyfriend’s. i’d rather be at home though… i feel bad leaving the cat alone too many nights.

anyway, when i got here, hooman’s guitar was out… so now he’s just playing random stuff and singing (the singing is sometimes okay… sometimes not so okay). a one man show. what a ham. it’s quite entertaining… but mostly funny. however, i think he’s more interested in his guitar tonight than me. unfortunate.
boo-urns.
